Shopping
There are many places to shop in Leyton. The High Road is lined
with local shops throughout, and there are a variety of supermarkets
nearby.
Supermarkets
Asda, opposite the Tube station, opened on September 3rd. It is open 24 hours
Monday to Saturday, and as well as the usual supermarket goods sells
clothes, computer peripherals, and has a pharmacy, optician and cafe.
It is also the only location of cashpoints at this end of Leyton.
Asda Leyton has its own website.
Tesco has two stores nearby, one at Leyton Bakers Arms (bus routes 69 or 97)
and one in Leytonstone (bus routes W14 and W15) which is larger.
Both are also open 24 hours during the week and have cashpoints.
Somerfield has a store in Leyton High Road near Coronation Gardens. This is
a small store with a limited range of goods, however it is handy if you
do not wish to make the journey to a larger store. It does not
operate 24 hours but is open longer hours than the other stores on Sunday
- 9am to 6pm.

Local Shops
There are a great variety of local shops, from £1 stores through to
specialist African culture or Oriental food shops. Generally whatever you
want can be found somewhere! For example Carnival Cards sells far more than
just cards, including kitchen supplies and electrical appliances. Many
things can be found in the £1 shops, and there are a number of
hairdressers (specialising in Afrocarribean hair) and nail salons.
Of course the usual needs can be met with a good range of newsagents
and stationers, mobile phone shop, video rental stores, internet cafes
and local businesses such as solicitors and estate agents.
